SUPER INTELLIGENCE
The idea of Human Level Machine Intelligence was explored by Nick Bostrom in his 2014 book SUPERINTELLIGENCE. In the final chapters of that seminal work, the author devotes an extensive amount of literary real estate to what he terms “value loading,” Bostrom delves into just how this is to be achieved in technical ways that are beyond the scope of this book. However the criteria for selection, together with the general application of human and Divine values, is well within the parameters of this project. And, this author will attempt to dovetail the “Morally Right” (MR) concepts with the “Coherent Extrapolated Volition” (CEV) processes Bostrom describes in his deep-tech dive. The human brain has some capabilities that the brains of other animals lack. It is to these distinctive capabilities that our species owes its dominant position. If machine brains surpassed human brains in general intelligence, then this new superintelligence could become extremely powerful – possibly beyond our control. As the fate of the gorillas now depends more on humans than on the species itself, so would the fate of humankind depend on the actions of the machine superintelligence.
